What We Believe....

What does it really mean to be a Christian?

The name "Christian" means "one who belongs to Christ".  Becoming a Christian begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  There is a scriptural pattern that we encourage people to follow.

Belief:  An intellectual, emotional and spiritual acceptance of Jesus as God's Son and our "Lord".  Faith is vital.  (Hebrews 11:6) Repentance: A change from living our way to living God's way.  We experience genuine sorrow for sin and we yield our will to Jesus.  (2 Corinthians 7:10; Acts 2:38)
Confession of Faith:  A public pledge of faith in Jesus Christ.  (Matthew 16:16; 1 Timothy 6:12) Baptism (Immersion): As an act of obedience that identifies us with Christ's death, burial and resurrection.  (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-5)
Faithful Christian Living:  A life commited to growing in faith and obedience to Jesus and the "Word of God". Communion: The "Lord's Super" is provided each Sunday as an opportunity for all believers to "examine themselves" before God and to honor the sacrifice of Jesus.  (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
